Wrinkle Smoothing

The treatment we know as BOTOX® is now formally approved for cosmetic use under a new name VISTABEL® (Botulinum toxin type A).
This is the most popular treatment in the UK for treating lines and wrinkles as it is safe, straightforward and can be combined effectively with other treatments.
Vistabel® stops the muscle from functioning by blocking neuromuscular transmission - i.e. it stops the chemical messages from the nerve to the muscle. By using facial muscles repeatedly throughout a lifetime, the skin is creased in areas of greatest use. The ageing process causes the slow down of collagen and elastin production in the skin so that as we get older, these areas of over-use become damaged and the lines become permanent. By reducing the movement of muscles in these areas, the skin stops being creased and is allowed to recover, causing the lines to soften or even fade away. Depending on each individual and the dose used, the response to treatment can vary from a relaxation of the muscles to an inability to move the muscles.
The procedure takes about ten minutes were an extremely fine, short needle is used to inject the botox into the appropriate area. This may cause some slight but brief discomfort. The area may have some slight redness and swelling which normally resolves within an hour. The treatment normally starts to take effect between 4-14 days. The effects will normally last between 3-5 months, when you will start to notice an ability to move the muscles more freely.

Sculptra®

Over time, your skin loses its full, firm, youthful appearance as a result of natural ageing. As the skin starts thinning and losing its natural elasticity, it becomes loose and starts to wrinkle.
You also gradually lose the fatty tissue that helps to fill out your face, causing the skin to sag and wrinkle even more.
The loss of facial volume can make your face look thin and narrow, with sunken cheeks - sometimes to the extent of making you look older than you actually are.
Sculptra® is a simple, injectable volumising treatment that works by stimulating the build up of the bodys natural collagen to help smooth out lines and wrinkles. It also helps to restore lost facial volume to give you a fuller, younger-looking face.
The enhancement is long lasting and looks completely natural.
Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to eliminate varicose veins and "spider veins". Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into the vein. This solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to swell and stick together and the blood to clot. Over time, the vessel turns into scar tissue that fades from view.
Sclerotherapy is a well-proven procedure and has been in use since the 1930s. It is suitable for superficial and fine dilated veins. Patients with deeper varicose veins will be referred to a surgeon. A suitable treatment plan will be discussed during consultation. The procedure takes about 15-30 minutes.
A number of treatments may be required to achieve the desired results.
